The Gunners will be hoping they can have a late claim at the title when they face leaders Chelsea on Sunday. The Blues have remained at the top of the table for the majority of the season unopposed and a win at the Emirates will bring them closer to a Premier League triumph.
Arsenal on the other hand have been phenomenal as of late having won nine straight games in all competitions and will be buoyed with confidence as they prepare for an important game. However what goes against them is Arsene Wenger's poor record against Jose Mourinho with the Portuguese unbeaten against the Frenchman in 12 matches.
The two were involved in a heated confrontation when the two sides met at the Stamford Bridge earlier in the season but Jose Mourinho has rubbished claims of any sort of rivalry between the two.
"For me, he's not my rival [in terms of hostility between the two]. I don't feel that," he said.
"He's a manager of a big club in the same city where I work and live. A big club with the same objectives that we have in the competitions we play. With that comes a bit of rivalry."
"But it's not different for me with the Milan manager when I was at Inter, or the Atletico manager when I was at Real and with Benfica when I was at Porto.... no problems."
The former Real Madrid boss also refused to throw light on the relationship between the two claiming that what happens on the pitch on Sunday is more important.
"I don't describe... It's not important. The only thing that matters on Sunday is the football game. That's the only thing that matters. What I wish is that Chelsea, Arsenal and play to be top I respect everyone."
One of the talking points in the build up to the match was the return of Cesc Fabregas to the Emirates. The Spaniard was highly tipped to return to Arsenal following his departure from Barcelona but instead ended up at Chelsea. Mourinho has claimed that he is unsure why the former Arsenal captain did not opt for a return to the Emirates but has claimed that he joined Chelsea to win titles.
"I know why he chose Chelsea," Mourinho said of Fabregas. "I don't know why he didn't choose Arsenal. I can only speak about what we promised him. I can't talk about the decision for him leaving Arsenal, or what stopped him going back. I don't know if it was the manager's or his decision."
Chelsea have uncertainties over strikers Diego Costa (hamstring) and Loic Remy (calf) however Didier Drogba is fit and available for selection.
Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker has been labelled as a 50-50 for the game as he aims to recover from an ankle problem. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta on the other hand are certain to miss out.
