After a 1-0 win in the first leg of the Capital One Cup encounter against Sheffield United, Spurs will now be hoping to make progress in another domestic cup competition. Mauricio Pochettino's men enjoyed most of the possession during the game against Sheffield but were given a hard time by the visitors only to be rescued by a penalty from A ndros Townsend.
As a result Tottenham have won all of their last three matches after a disappointing outing against Crystal Palace earlier in the month which saw them suffering a 2-1 defeat.
Despite the win Pochettino was notably unhappy with his team's performance and will be looking for improvement in the upcoming fixture.
"When every player had the ball, they took three, four and five touches and after they pass the ball. This was the main difficulty in creating chances," he said.
"We try to move in offensive situations by changing position. Harry [Kane] was on the left… we tried to move and create problems for the opponent’s back four. But it was a team problem, not for one player.
"I think in the second half we fixed this problem. We changed some positions and we improved our level and created some chances."
Leicester on the other hand failed to stretch their four match unbeaten run after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke City last time out.
Record signing Andrej Kramaric completed 25 minutes under his belt in that much and was unable to make much of an impact but manager Nigel Pearson is confident that his star signing will soon hit the ground running.
"I'm very satisfied with Andrej. We are delighted to have signed him, a player we had an interest in over a long period of time," remarked Pearson.
"It's been very impressive how he's dealt with his situation because it's never easy for a young man to be patient waiting for the political side of getting a deal done, with work permits etcetera.
"But he is settling very well, his English is excellent, so that's a great benefit for him in terms of being able to understand what's expected."
Leicester will be without goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as well as defender Zoumana Bakayogo for the game whereas Matty James will serve the second game of a three-match ban. Tottenham on the other hand will welcome back Younes Kaboul who has recovered from illness but Erik Lamela (calf), Vlad Chiriches (back) and Federico Fazio (illness) are all doubtful for the match.
