Dortmund's captain denied he has ever negotiated with any other club, since he wants to stay as long as possible with Jurgen Klopp's side.

Borussia Dortmund's defender Mats Hummels tackled rumors about his possible departure from Jurgen Klopp's team, adamantly stating he has never intended to leave:

"According to the media, I've been negotiating with several clubs. Some have said that I've signed a preliminary agreement with Barcelona. Those statements don't have any truth in them. I've never even thought of leaving Dortmund," Hummels stated.

Hummels recalled that the players were given the opportunity to leave the club back in 2012, after earning consecutive Bundesliga championships, but he refused to do so since he feels very comfortable wearing yellow and black:

"Back then we had the chance to leave the team. We were told that if we felt the need to leave, the club would not hold us back. I sincerely felt, and still do, that what we have here is truly unique. My role models are players like Paolo Maldini and Steven Gerrard. They have stayed with one club for their entire career. I would also bet Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Müller will play forever for Bayern Munich. That's my goal right now," the defender added.

A World Cup winner with Germany this past summer, Hummels will always be thankful ro Jurgen Klopp, who gave him the opportunity to rise with Dortmund. "All of a sudden I became a starter. It was a great development for me, because I didn't play much before he arrived. My life changed when he got here," Hummels ended.
