French footballer Thierry Henry has officially made his return at Arsenal FC. The MLS star has been signed on loan and is set to be in action on Monday.
It is understood that Henry was brought back to London to support the club during the Africa Cup of Nations 2012. A statement on Arsenal’s official website read:

“After negotiations between Arsenal, Henry, the New York Red Bulls and Major League Soccer, the striker will team up with the Gunners on a temporary basis during a period of fixtures in January and February that will see Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh depart for Africa Cup of Nations duty.”

Henry scored a record 226 goals in 370 appearances for Arsenal between 1999 and 2007, only to become the club’s all-time leading scorer. But the Frenchman isn’t prepared to undergo weeks of pressure.

Knowing how well Robin Van Persie is already doing at the Emirates, Henry blatantly declared: “I hope people are not going to compare what I did here before.

“I’m not stupid to think I’m going to start. We all know that Robin van Persie is the main guy up front.”

Thierry Henry has been given the No 12 shirt, and he may feature in Arsenal’s FA Cup Third Round match against Leeds United on Monday night. He may also appear for the Gunners in the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, and possibly against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
