A surprising 1-0 loss to Sporting Gijon at the Santiago Bernabeu last season is enough for Real Madrid to understand how daring Los Rojiblancos can be.
Real Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka addressed the media on Friday in Jose Mourinho’s place, talking about his team’s situation and chances ahead of their next league game. Los Blancos are currently four points above rivals Barcelona with still six games to go, including this weekend’s matches.

Emphasizing his team’s hard work all season, Aitor asserted that a finish with the title would be the deserved end to Real’s campaign. On Saturday evening, Real Madrid host Sporting Gijon, yet although the visitors currently sit in the relegation zone, this game will not be all about confidence and good memories for the hosts.

"They defeated us at the Bernabeu last season and they are dangerous opponents,” pointed out Karanka.

“A draw will not be enough for them because they need three points to get out of relegation. They will go all out for the win and that will make them dangerous.

“We didn't win our last home game and we have to win tomorrow.”

With El Clasico, another match against Sevilla and two legs against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semis, there is no denying that Real Madrid are loaded with a busy agenda this month. But Karanka is not thinking about resting some players to field in a weak side: “We won’t use rotations.”

The assistant manager also affirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s position in the line-up was not a doubt, despite the top scorer facing the risk of receiving his fifth booking. “He is intelligent and a player should never be afraid of being booked,” Karanka was quoted saying by Real Madrid CF’s official website. “There's no problem.”
