A2 history, coverage, features
A2 is a Turkish television channel owned and operated by the Turkuvaz Media Group. The channel was launched for testing on November 16, 2016, but it would be officially launched on November 28, 2016.
Over the years, A2 has been labeled by users as a general entertainment channel, with TV series, films, documentaries, and sports being aired on this channel. While most of the content aired on this channel consists of in-house productions, foreign films have also been shown on A2 as time has gone by.
Speaking about sports, A2 has been used as an overflow channel for A Spor whenever two or more live events covered by the network are taking place. Usually, A2 has focused on covering Turkish Super Lig games, along with Turkish Cup matches.
A2 was launched as Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed would be added to its offer on April 3, 2017. Both feeds may still be available for users to watch, depending on their pay-tv carrier of choice. Unlike some of its sister channels, A2 has only been available in Turkey since its launch.
