The Campeón de Campeones MX, or simply Campeón de Campeones, is an anual club competition between the winners of the Liga MX and the Copa MX. It was launched in 1942, featuring the winner of the domestic league and the cup champions, but it has seen many formats since its inception.

Despite having been created more than 80 years ago, the Champion of Champions has been suspended many times, beginning with a hiatus between 1977 and 1987. After many years of uncertainty, the competition was suspended again between 1996 and 2002, when the Liga MX rescheduled the format for four years, featuring the winners of the Apertura and Clausura tournaments. Scheduling problems forced the tournament to be suspended once again from 2006 until 2014, when the league decided to hold the game as the start of a new season. The Champion of Champions is now held at a neutral venue in the United States over a single match, with extra time and penalties used to crown the champion in the event of a tie after 90 minutes.

If a team manages to win both tournaments in a season (the Apertura and the Clausura), the club in question is automatically awarded the crown as Campeón de Campeones, but another match is played to fill the void left by such a scenario. The winner of this competition will also earn a spot in the Campeones Cup, a cup match between the Liga MX holders of this trophy and the winners of the most recent MLS Cup.

Over the years, coverage of this tournament has been handed to TUDN USA and TUDN Mexico, with Mexican TV network Televisa also owning broadcasting rights for free-to-air channels. In terms of streaming coverage, VIX has owned the streaming rights of the tournament since the platform was launched.
