Watch Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and the stars of the FIFA World XI exclusively on beIN SPORT
MIAMI, Jan. 10 – With the voting tallied, 50,000 professional soccer players have selected the top 11 players that comprise the 2012 FIFA World XI. Sports fans can see live and exclusive coverage from the world’s best only on beIN SPORT.

The FIFA World XI team this year is entirely comprised of players in La Liga chosen for their exceptional performance. This includes Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Each of these teams can only be seen on beIN SPORT, America’s fastest-growing TV network, dedicated to live and exclusive coverage of the world’s best soccer and international sports.

The FIFA World XI stars on offense are Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao. In the midfield are Barcelona central midfielder Xavi, Real Madrid central midfielder Xabi Alonso and Barcelona central midfielder Andres Iniesta. Back on defense voters chose Real Madrid left-back Marcelo, Barcelona offensive right defender Daniel Alves, Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique, Real Madrid central defender Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

“The composition of the FIFA list is a recognition that the best soccer in the world is being played in Spain,” said Phil Schoen, beIN SPORT announcer and host. “While there will be honest disagreement among soccer fans over who didn’t make the cut, there’s no doubt that every player who made the list is a world-class talent. There might be other leagues with more history and better marketing, but obviously when it comes to talent, La Liga is where it’s at.”

“With the resurgence of Italy’s Serie A, the incredible player acquisitions of Paris Saint-Germain in France’s Ligue Un, and the emergence of Spain, I feel very blessed to be able to announce the games of these leagues every week on beIN SPORT,” Schoen said.
