The North American leg of the International Champions Cup will carry on on Wednesday at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Borussia Dortmund takes on Benfica, in what will be the German team's second game of the competition.
Lucien Favre's side defeated Manchester City on Friday night, boosting their chances of winning the friendly competition if they can manage to win all their games. Meanwhile, this will be Benfica's first outing in the friendly tournament, where they will try to leave a lasting impression.
Some of the players for both teams have faced each other in the recent past, as Borussia Dortmund eliminated Benfica from the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League. That two-legged tie ended with a 4-1 aggregate in Borussia Dortmund's favor.
Rui Vitoria's side will try to use this game to get a good idea of how they will challenge Porto for the Primeira Liga title. Players such as new signing Nicolás Castillo will be crucial in that endeavor. Other players such as Facundo Pereyra will also aim to secure a spot in the team's lineup, following his arrival after his stint at Shakhtar Donetsk.
