Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton will go down the books of history as the man who scored the club’s first Champions League goal. The English winger capitalized on a defensive lapse to give the Foxes the lead over the Belgian giants. Although that record sounds pretty obvious, he also set another one. The 26-year-old is the first Leicester City player to score in a European competition since Muzzy Izzet back in September 2000.
Speedy Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez added the second for Claudio Ranieri’s men on their Champions League debut as they went to the break leading 2-0. Check out some of the reactions on Twitter to the Foxes’ first half performance vs Brugge.
