While the two Manchester giants United and City are out splashing the cash on Paul Pogba and John Stones respectively, Arsenal fans wait on their club to complete a second marquee signing of the summer.
Granit Xhaka remains their only big-name recruit despite a number of worrying issues to a squad already in need of new signings. However, Gooners have received positive news over the north London giants’ top transfer target.
That player is none other than Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City, the Algerian wizard who dazzled the crowd with spectacular displays last season en route to the English Premier League and PFA Player of the Year titles.
In similar fashion to Jamie Vardy, Mahrez has been tipped to trade the Foxes for the Gunners, but talk has died down over the last few days. This has led many to believe the move is off.
Jonathan Johnson of ESPN FC and beIN Sports USA has handed Arsenal supporters a lifeline, though, tweeting that Mahrez wants an Emirates Stadium switch. Furthermore, the journalist wrote that both Leicester and Arsene Wenger’s side are aware of the former Le Havre ace’s desire.

So what’s the hold up? Why isn’t the Algerian in north London already? As tweeted by Johnson, the player does not want to end his King Power Stadium days in an ugly manner by forcing Claudio Ranieri to sell him.
However, Mahrez will not force Leicester into selling him. #AFC #LCFC

Will Mahrez join Arsenal, or continue with Leicester City? Only time will tell.
