The four fittest teams of the season take on each other in the final match day.
At the beginning it was River Plate the main candidate to occupy the top position of the tournament. Weeks later Arsenal and San Lorenzo made it to the first position but finally Estudiantes has been the undisputed leader throughout the whole second half of the tournament.

Velez Sarsfield has done an excellent job keeping up with Estudiantes' pace and only three weeks ago they joined Alejandro Sabella's Pinchas at the top, before losing it only days later.

Independiente was crowned Sudamericana champion last Wednesday and this leaves Lanus, Racing and Newell's without chances to obtain qualification for next year's Copa Libertadores.

The last round is likely to bring along a wide variety of surprises. Who'll become Apertura's champion by Monday?

Omar Asad's Tombas visit Floresta, a true fortress where Jose Romero's Albos have secured most of the points they have obtained so far. Godoy Cruz will have to do without its top attackers, as Jairo Castillo and David Ramirez are both struggling with injuries.

To make things even worse, defenders Zelmar García and Nicolás Olmedo are also ruled out with injuries, greatly undermining Tomba's ball flow.

All Boys isn't doing much better, as Romero will have to find a way to replace Sebastian Ereros and Luis Rodriguez in the midfield, while Eduardo Dominguez, sent off last week against Racing, won't be able to perform.

All Boys looks forward to another victory to close a perfect season, in which they've left the relegation fight far behind. Godoy Cruz secured qualification for Copa Libertadores for the first time in their history, and wants to finish among the top five.

Who'll succeed?

Velez looks forward to celebrate their eighth victory in the last 10 games this Sunday in Avellaneda, as they can only hope for Estudiantes to make a false move to have a shot for the title. Racing has been eliminated from the Sudamericana fight by Independiente.

Velez's winger Emiliano Papa has recovered from his injuries and will be ready to lead the advance from the left wing. League's top striker Santiago Silva might be missing this early final, as he struggles with injuries, joining Augusto Fernandez in the list of physically compromised players.

Miguel Angel Russo will introduce only one modification on his scheme as Bruno Zuculini was ejected from the last game and Claudio Yacob remains sidelined with injuries. Young Sebastián Mayorga will be responsible for providing the needed confidence in the midfield to lead the advance.

"We know that, if we get the three points, we might make it to the third position. It's been a long time since we reached that position and we're focused on doing things in the best possible way to be there by Monday" said Racing's captain Matias Martinez.

Velez must make a final effort to lift this year's title. Will they succeed?

Alejandro Sabella's Pinchas lock horns with Arsenal knowing the title depends only on themselves, as the two-points lead over Velez Sarsfield will make it impossible for Ricardo Gareca's Fortin to defy their leadership.

Arsenal's top striker Luciano Leguizamon will be sidelined as it's expected he'll undergo physical surgery during midweek. To balance things up, Gustavo Alfaro recovers Lisandro Lopez in the back line.

Claudio Mosca has made enough merits to be once again Mauro Obolo's partner in the attack. "We cannot make a single mistake, I hope we can ruin Estudiantes' party" said Arsenal's defender Pablo Aguilar.

Enzo Perez and Juan Sebastian Veron are back in the starting squad and their prowess in the midfield will surely be key for Estudiantes to overwhelm Arsenal in La Plata.

An early goal might give Estudiantes the needed confidence to become champions at home. Arsenal must take the full scoring to secure the third position. Who'll claim the full scoring?

Both San Lorenzo and Banfield started this tournament as natural leaders, but as the weeks went by their strengths diminished greatly. It's been over two months since Ramon Diaz's Cuervos celebrated their last victory. Things aren't going much better for Banfield, who've claimed only two points in the last six games.

Ramon Diaz decided once again to leave Sebastián Balsas and Diego Rivero at the bench as he wants to find some alternatives to face the next Clausura. To make things even more difficult, Leandro Romagnoli received his fifth yellow card against Quilmes last week and won't be able to perform.

Julio Cesar Falcioni has also a lot to think prior to this game. Marcelo Bustamante is banned from performing while Julio Barraza resented his injury against Boca Juniors and Banfield's manager might choose not to risk him.

Gustavo Toledo and Santiago Ladino are likely to replace them on the wings to lead the advance and feed team's top striker Ruben Ramirez. An interesting game between two rivals of equal forces, who'll claim the full scoring?

Newell's visit the Elephant Cemetery without mathematical chances to qualify for next year's Copa Libertadores. Fernando Gamboa wants to celebrate another victory before the tournament is over, but to do so they'll have to defeat one of the most dangerous squads of the Argentinean football.

Colon has lost the last three games and such adverse results have made it impossible for los Sabaleros to join the top fight. Esteban Fuertes and Federico Higuain are likely to be leading the attack again, while Joaquin Larrivey waits for an opportunity in the bench.

Newell's coach Roberto Sensini will have to replace key players in his squad this Sunday. Gabriel Cichero and Marcelo Estigarribia are banned from performing, while Lepra's goalkeeper Sebastian Peratta will be given a chance to rest and recover from a minor injury in one of his fingers.

To cope with such absences, Rojinegros recover Mauro Formica. Ignacio Fideleff will take over Cichero's place and it's yet ucnertain who'll replace Estigarriba on the left wing.

J J Lopez's Millonarios look forward to finish the season among the top five and to make it happen they need to defeat Gabriel Schurrer's Lanus at their own home. Both teams share the 6th position with 28 points.

Lanus' most creative midfielder Sebastian Blanco resented his injuries during the week and Granate's coach might choose not to risk him now the qualification for the Libertadores has gone out of reach. Gonzalo Castillejos and Mario Regueiro will be joining Silvio Romero in the attack trident.

River's head coach will introduce a few modifications on his scheme for this clash. Young Manuel Lanzini occupies once again the role of team's main driver while Mariano Pavone will be the only striker, as Ariel Ortega has once again been relegated to the bench.

J J Lopez wants River to have more control of the ball flow and for that reason he might adopt a 3-4-2-1 formation. Watch out for Eric Lamela, River's most unbalancing player.

Sudamericana reigning champion Independiente visits Parque Patricios to prolong Huracan's agony for another week. Miguel Brindisi's Globos are in great need of the three points if they don't want to start the Clausura with the relegation water up to their neck.

Huracan occupies the bottom position while Independiente stands only one point above them. The hosts have lost the last six games, falling behind the relegation line.

Independiente's coach Antonio Mohammed will give half of his players a chance to rest after last week's success in Avellaneda. Rojos' goalkeeper Hilario Navarro, Hernan Fredes, Lucas Mareque and Leonel Galeano (called for Argentina's U-20 National Football Team). Nestor Silvera and Facundo Parra will be leading the attack eager to take advantage of Diablos' momentum.

Independiete has one pending match against Tigre but a victory will secure they won't finish the season at the bottom position. Will they succeed in Parque Patricios?

Pablo Morant's Gimnasia visit La Bombonera looking forward to obtain their first victory outside the Forest and secure three decisive points for the relegation fight. Boca Juniors can be relegated to the 14th position upon a defeat and the next semester might become a nightmare without some positive impact on the results.

Lobos' top striker Jorge Cordoba might not be fully fit to perform, while Fabián Rinaudo is ruled out with injuries. Gimnasia has won just two games in the Apertura, both of them thanks to Cordoba's offensive prowess.

Roberto Pompei will have to do without Matias Gimenez, booked last week for the fifth time this season. Young Juan Manuel Sánchez Miño will play his first match with Boca Juniors, joining Cristian Chavez in the midfield.

Central defender Christian Cellay's favorable evolution from an ankle injury might allow him to strengthen the back line. Pablo Mouche is a second alternative for Sancez Miño, boosting the attack but losing control in the midfield.

A victory is mandatory for both sides, who'll claim it?

Tigre wants to celebrates its fourth consecutive victory in Victoria against Clausura reigning champion Argentinos, who collected two defeats in the last two games.

Denis Stracqualursi has been responsible for Tigre's recent awakening. Two goals might let him join Velez's Santiago Silva as the top striker of the league.

Bichitos Colorados' coach Pedro Troglio misses Juan Sabia and Lucas Rodriguez (the first, banned after receiving a yellow card last week, the latter with Argentina's U-20 National Football team. Ciro Rius maintains his position in the starting eleven joining Nestor Ortigoza as drivers with Franco Niell and Nicolas Blandi in the attack.

Roman Martinez's and Rodrigo Leone's partnership must feed Tigre's strikers with enough scoring opportunities to secure the three points. Do they have what it takes to stop Argentinos from climbing to the 8th position?

Two newcomers to the Apertura take on each other in the final match day in a game that might have a massive impact on the next Clausura. Olimpo started the season fighting at the top but as the weeks went by the identity of the team fell apart. Now Olimpo occupies the 16th points, only two above Quilmes.

Olimpo receives Quilmes in Bahia Blanca, where the Aurinegros have not been defeated since the beginning of October. The game will have an additional flavor for Quilmes' head coach Leonardo Madelon, as he let Olimpo climb to the Primera Division back in 2007.

A victory will place the visitors one point above Olimpo in the relegation fight, and for that reason Brewers' manager will repeat the same eleven players that defeated San Lorenzo last week. Olimpo's coach Omar De Felipe, on the other hand, might have to be forced to replace Daniel Vega.

"Against Quilmes we must repeat all the good things we did in Rosario. We occupy an awkward position in the standings. A victory will let us finish the the season in decent form" said Aurinegros' midfielder Juan Manuel Cobo.

The winner will settle a precedent in the fight for the category, is Olimpo ready to celebrate a victory away in Bahia Blanca?
