After a 2-0 win against Hertha Berlin this Saturday, Bayern Munich can almost taste Bundesliga glory; however, that should not be a distraction from their crucial match this Wednesday.

Despite their most recent win on Saturday against Hertha Berlin, which continued to extend their lead on the table (81), Pep Guardiola's men must not lose focus. If Bayern Munich wants to continue this positive momentum, they need to completely devote their focus and attention to their Champions League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid this Wednesday.

The Germans will be traveling to the Vincente Calderon for the first leg of this anticipated match, as Pep is hoping to see his players in their best form. In order to clinch a good result, the Reds must deliver a spotless performance in front of Diego Simeone’s crowd.

Bayern Munich's coach emphasized that this Madrid side has beaten FC Barcelona twice in the past three Champions League campaigns, and therefore stressed the necessity of his players to turn on their intensity to face Los Rojiblancos.

The former Barcelona coach has recently expressed the importance of this vital semifinal match:

"I hope we can be at our best at the [Vincente] Calderon and get a good result."

"It's clear we lacked impetus (against Hertha) in the first half which happens when you play in various competitions.”

"I understand that players may have had one eye on Atletico [Madrid]."

Furthermore, Atletico Madrid has been enjoying a great season with 82 points on La Liga table, leveling with defending champions, FC Barcelona. Diego Simeone's men look to continue their consecutive winning streak after edging over Malaga with a 1-0 victory this Saturday. The home side will be entering this semi-finals fixture with confidence, striving to grab a good result ahead of the second leg in Germany.

The Spanish side is known for their incredible form at Vincente Calderon, which is the main reason behind Pep's concerns and emphasis on applying focus to this game. Atletico Madrid has won all five of their Champions League encounters this season at their home turf and are not letting the Germans get in the way of this winning streak for them.
