LATICS CLASSICS: Wigan Athletic 2 Nottingham Forest 2 - 22/11/2003

Andy Liddell provided the drama in our first ever meeting with Nottingham Forest back in 2003 when he equalised following a brace of scrappy goals from John Thompson and Marlon Harewood for the visitors. Nathan Ellington had Latics in front in the first half with an excellent finish beyond Darren Ward, but Latics were left to sweat when both Thompson and Harewood took advantage of hesistant Latics defending the bundle the ball home and take a 2-1 lead. Liddell's fine finish found the bottom left corner to seal a point.
