Die Roten will look to take a major step towards securing a round of 16 spot when they host Turkish side Galatasaray on Wednesday, November 8th.

Fresh off their resounding victory in Der Klassiker, Bayern Munich will be looking to maintain their excellent patch of form when they turn their attention towards European duties on Wednesday. Thomas Tuchel's side showed their typical ruthlessness as they crushed Borussia Dortmund 4-1 in last weekend's Klassiker tie, with Harry Kane earning deserved plaudits as the English star netted a hat-trick.

Saturday's hat-trick makes it 17 goals in 14 matches across all competitions for Kane, and given that he scored Bayern's second during their comfortable 3-1 win over Galatasaray, it is safe to assume that the former Tottenham man will be looking to do likewise on Wednesday evening at the Allianz Arena. Die Roten currently are five points clear of the chasing pack after a perfect start to their group stage campaign and could pretty much move closer towards securing a round of 16 berth if they can, as many expect, make it four wins from four Champions League games on Wednesday.

To date, Bayern have never lost to a Turkish side, with six wins and one draw from their prior seven meetings. In addition, they have been pretty much flawless when playing in Munich, with three wins from their past three games on home turf, while they have scored 13 times and conceded none. Given that they are also unbeaten in their last 37 UCL group stage games - a competition record - and notably have won their 16 in a row, it is hard to see how their upcoming opponents can possibly upset the odds.

Of course, Galatasaray will naturally be doing their best. The Turkish side started off their group stage campaign off well, but were dealt a huge setback following a 3-1 loss to Bayern last month. Nonetheless, they find themselves in second spot, albeit with Manchester United starting to make up some lost ground, they could very well end up sliding down to third depending on the outcome of the match between the Red Devils and Copenhagen.
