The talented playmaker was relegated with Leicester City this season, but he has apparently planned his next move before it is too late.

One of Leicester City's highest-praised players is set to leave the team now that they were relegated to the EFL Championship. Surprisingly, his decision to join another Premier League club could be a bit strange considering the options in hand.

James Maddison has been linked to moves to Premier League clubs such as Newcastle, Tottenham, Arsenal, and even Manchester United, but in recent days his choices were narrowed down to two: Tottenham or the Magpies.

This is precisely the point where it got tricky for Maddison, mainly because a report by the Daily Mail states that the midfielder decided to snub playing UEFA Champions League football with Newcastle in order to push for a move to Tottenham.

The English newspaper reported that the 26-year-old player prefers to live in London rather than having to move to Newcastle, which has played a key role in his decision. Although the footballer could still be seduced to play with the black and white side, initial contacts between Maddison's agents and Tottenham president Daniel Levy have been deemed as successful, meaning that a big move could already be in the works.

Maddison spent the past five seasons playing for the Foxes, where he scored 55 goals in over 200 games, which make him quite an asset for the club that manages to secure his signing.
