Southampton have officially been relegated but two other teams will suffer the drop on the final day. Will it be Everton, Leicester, or Leeds? Here's everything you need to know.

The final round of the 2022/23 Premier League season is here! While the title race and top-four battle have already been decided, there's still a lot left to play for on Matchday 38, with the relegation scrap being up in the air.

Manchester City have been crowned the champions while Man United and Newcastle beat out competition from Liverpool to join the Cityzens and Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League. However, some teams are still fighting to secure Premier League survival, with that battle set to come to an end of the final day.

Which teams will suffer the heartbreak of dropping down to the Championship? Which fan base will celebrate avoiding relegation on the final day? Here's everything you need to know on this matter ahead of Sunday's curtain closer.

Which teams have already been relegated from the Premier League?

As of now, only one team has been officially relegated this season and that is Southampton. The Saints are currently bottom of the table with 24 points and will be competing in the Championship next season.

Meanwhile, three teams have already secured promotion to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign and they are Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town, with the Hatters earning their spot after beating Coventry on penalties at Wembley in the Promotion Playoffs final. They will take the spots of Southampton and two other teams.

Which Premier League sides are mathematically in danger of getting relegated?

Nottingham Forest, who are in 16th, are mathematically safe, meaning only Leeds (19th), Leicester (18th), and Everton (17th) can go down on the final day of the season. The Whites and the Foxes are tied on 31 points, with Maddison and Co. boasting the slight advantage thanks to their superior goal difference, while the Toffees sit two ahead on 33 points.

What are the permutations?

Everton

Everton face Bournemouth at Goodison Park on the final day and will fancy their odds of getting a result thanks to their home advantage. The Toffees are in the driving seat as a victory on Sunday against the Cherries will secure their Premier League survival regardless of the other results.

Sean Dyche's men simply need to match Leicester's and Leeds' results. This means the Merseyside outfit don't necessarily need a victory. A draw – or even a defeat – could suffice so long as the other two sides fail to win.

Leicester

Fate is not in their hands. The Foxes face West Ham on the final day and not only do they need to beat the Hammers, but Leicester will also need a slip-up from Everton – be it a draw or loss – to avoid relegation.

West Ham are preparing for the UEFA Europa Conference League final and could rotate heavily given that they are no longer in a relegation scrap. Additionally, this tie will be taking place at the King Power Stadium, meaning Leicester will have the home advantage. However, Dean Smith's side will need two things to go in their favor and the odds of one occurring, let alone both, are slim.

Leeds

Leeds are the likeliest to get relegated due to the permutations. Not only will they be facing North London heavyweights Tottenham on the final day, but Sam Allardyce's men will need both Everton and Leicester to slip up. The Toffees will have to lose at home to Bournemouth and Leicester have to fail to beat West Ham for this to occur.

If Everton pick up a point, then Leeds will have to win by a three-goal margin in order to overturn their inferior goal difference. A win from one of Everton or Leicester will send the Whites back down to the Championship regardless of their result against Spurs.
