USA and Costa Rica will lock horns on the second day of the month of September in an international friendly match. Kick-off time for the fixture is at 20:00 PST, 23:00 EST and 3:00am GMT.
The United States have a few scores to settle against Costa Rica. During the qualification phase ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, USA failed to beat the Costa Ricans. They were handed a 3-1 defeat away from home in June 2009 before earning only 1 point from a 2-2 draw in the return leg which took place in October 2009.

Ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the USA want to build a winning team. The era under Bob Bradley is gone. Jurgen Klinsmann is now at the head of the coaching staff.

The recently appointed coach will have another chance to win his first match in charge of the USA. Ex-Germany manager Klinsmann left positive impressions among fans and through the media following the Americans’ hard-fought 1-1 draw against Mexico on August 11 this year.

A victory against Costa Rica will assure fans that the United States’ national soccer team is ready to go through a smooth 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign. Jurgen Klinsmann’s 24-man squad for USA’s friendly against Costa Rica—which will precede the Belgium encounter—goes as follows:

Goalkeepers: Bill Hamid, Tim Howard

Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra, Edgar Castillo, Timmy Chandler, Steve Cherundolo, Clarence Goodson, Zach Loyd, Michael Orozco Fiscal, Heath Pearce, Tim Ream

Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman, Clint Dempsey, Maurice Edu, Fabian Johnson, Sacha Kljestan, Jeff Larentowicz, Robbie Rogers, Brek Shea, Jose Torres

Forwards: Juan Agudelo, Jozy Altidore, Teal Bunbury, Landon Donovan
