The stellar lineup left some top-caliber names out, while other footballer that did not have the best of seasons earned the nod,

Football fans were eagerly waiting for FIFA's Gala, where The Best Awards will be handed out to those who are crowned as the dominant performers in the world, but some were not that good at keeping secrets, and they ended up leaking the list for FIFA's Best lineup of the 2018-19 season, which was filled with controversy.

According to various media outlets, the best lineup has already hit the light, and there are some surprises almost in every category.

Alisson Becker was elected as the best goalkeeper in the world, which makes no surprise due to his influence in Liverpool's UEFA Champions League triumph and his performance in the 2019 Copa América.

The first surprises come in defense, as Marcelo and Sergio Ramos were also included in the list despite not winning any major trophies with Los Blancos. Matthijs De Ligt and Virgil Van Dijk were awarded the remaining defensive spots.

Frenkie de Jong, Luka Modric and Eden Hazard were named as the best midfielders in the world, which comes as a surprise due to Modric's poor performance with Real Madrid. Modric went from winning the Ballon D'Or and The Best awards to not making the top ten list of contenders.

Last, but not least, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappé were named as the best strikers in the world. While all of these spots seem to be deserved, some fans believe that Mohamed Salah deserved a nod in this list.
