The Colombian ace will make a decision regarding his future in the next few weeks after being deemed surplus to Zidane's requirements.

James Rodríguez seemed to be ready to join Napoli this summer, but things have taken a massive turn when it comes to the player's future.

The footballer's stint at Bayern ended in disappointment, since he was not able to make his stint at Allianz Arena permanent. Now, the Colombian has been handed quite an interesting offer to return to La Liga, but something tells us that Real Madrid fans will not be happy with this potential move.

Just like Marcos Llorente did days ago, James Rodríguez could end up playing for none other than Real Madrid's inner-city rival: Atlético Madrid. In a report revealed by Cadena Ser, Rodríguez's agents stated that the possibility of watching the Colombian play under Simeone's commands is real.

In order to see this deal through, Atlético execs told Cadena Ser that Vitolo and Ángel Correa must be transferred away from the club, since their departures could pave the way for the South American ace's signing. In fact, Cadena Ser's report stated that the idea of playing for Atlético seduces James, since it would give him a chance to stay in Madrid, a city that fits himself and his family like a glove.

The main thing to solve now is the relationship between both clubs, which seems to be in good terms after Llorente's arrival last week. Napoli may have already contacted Real Madrid to see this deal come to fruition, but the player's wish to keep playing in La Liga could see him involved in one of the most controversial signings of the ongoing summer transfer window.
