With the next World Cup tournament less than a year away, kit manufacturers are working hard to produce pieces of art for the participating nations. One of them is Adidas, with the German company unveiling the jerseys for several of the competition’s favorites.
These include defending champions Germany, 2010 winners Spain, 2014 runners-up Argentina, and the promising Belgium. Lionel Messi, Alvaro Morata, Toni Kroos, and many others were on hand to model their respective team’s new look.
Adidas’ goal was to hand supporters a blast from the past. The German manufacturer stated (as per the Daily Mail) that they took “inspiration from past shirt designs but brought into the 21st century with progressive tooling and innovation”.
Die Mannschaft, who will wear a gold World Cup winner badge, take inspiration from their jersey from the 1990 tournament – which they won. The hosts, Russia, will wear an almost entirely red kit – a homage to the jersey worn in their 1988 Olympic Games success.
Laurels have been incorporated into La Albiceleste’s shirt, though it is hard to notice from afar. The South American powerhouse is celebrating the AFA's 125 year anniversary and will be hoping for better luck in this new kit.
The Belgians will sport a diamond pattern in their look, as Eden Hazard and Co. look to achieve their true potential and challenge their more successful rivals. Spain will also have diamonds in their look, which represents La Roja’s speed, energy, and style of football. Check out all the kits below.

Not all the tickets to Russia have been booked. With 32 spots up for grabs, only 23 teams have confirmed their place in next summer's tournament. Of the nine remaining spots, three below to Africa and six will be decided by playoffs.
