Match Facts & Stats

  • Freiburg are undefeated in their last 5 home matches
  • However, Borussia Dortmund have won their last 12 matches against Freiburg in all competitions
  • Die Schwarzgelben also have scored at least 3 goals in 6 of their last 7 matches against Freiburg in all competitions

Preview

So far, so good for new manager Peter Bosz. Although Dortmund have now seen Ousmane Dembele depart, they have managed to hang on to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for yet another season. Die Schwarzgelben are dealing with a slew of injuries to key personnel, including including Erik Durm, Andre Schurrle, Sebastian Rode, and Raphael Guerriero, whilst Marco Reus is again on the treatment table, but that has not prevented them from earning all six points from their first two games.

Five goals have been scored during that run, and Dortmund have yet to concede a goal. Of course, they will face much tougher opponents than Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin as the season progresses, but it's a good start to the term and despite their injury concerns, they are expected to pick up all three points against a Freiburg side that have earned just one point from their first two games. The hosts come into this game having lost 4-1 to Leipzig and are also dealing with a slew of absences due to injury and suspension, plus they have failed to win their last 12 meetings with Dortmund across all competitions.

Broadcast info - Hoffenheim vs. Bayern Munich

Who's playing: Although they have yet to fully get up and running, Bayern Munich have nonetheless managed to pick up all six points from their first two games. They could face a tricky test, however, as they travel to face an ambitious Hoffenheim side who finished in an impressive fourth place last season.

What time: Saturday, September 9th at 09:30 PST/12:30 EST/16:30 GMT/17:30 BST/18:30 CET

What stadium: This match will be played at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena. Located in Sinsheim, Baden-Württemberg, this multi-purpose venue can seat up to 30.150 fans for football games.

Match Facts & Stats

  • Hoffenheim are undefeated in their last 18 home matches
  • Bayern are undefeated in 18 of their last 19 matches against Hoffenheim in all competitions
  • Hoffenheim have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 home matches
  • Bayern have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 7 away matches

Preview

Carlo Ancelotti's side had a rather disappointing pre-season campaign, and it seems like Bayern have not hit full stride just yet. Whilst they have earned all six points from their first two games, die Roten will be bolstered by the return of several players coming back from injury, which will give the Italian tactician a lot more options. Jérôme Boateng is among those reportedly coming back into the matchday squad, but is expected to feature from the bench - if he does feature at all, whilst both David Alaba and Juan Bernat now are out injured. Meanwhile, new signing James Rodriguez is reportedly back in training and could also make an appearance from the bench.

Thomas Muller's growing frustration with his role at Bayern has been making waves in Germany, and whilst he played a starring role with die Mannschaft during the international break, it will be very interesting to see how he's used by Ancelotti this season. As for Hoffenheim, they come into this game having earned an impressive 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen and will be eager to put as much pressure on Bayern as possible - especially given their solid record at home. Whilst Bayern do have a strong record against Hoffenheim, Julian Naglesmann's side's most recent win - their first in 19 attempts was as recent as this past April.
