Seems like Arturo Vidal can't keep himself out of trouble when playing with his National Team.
Following his 2015 incident, in which a judge deprived him of his driver's license after crashing his Ferrari while driving intoxicated, the Bayern Munich midfielder was reported to have caused disturbances at a local casino, according to reports by BioBio Deportes.
BioBio Deportes revealed that the 30-year-old footballer was accused by hotel guests of hurling chairs at them after reporting loud noises coming from one of the rooms in which Vidal was supposedly hanging around with friends.
The local news station added that Vidal was escorted by his bodyguards around 07:30 hrs local time. This version was confirmed by policemen at the scene, who admitted that Vidal wasn't amongst those who were questioned for the incident.
After denying his involvement in this incident while he arrived at Chile's training complex, Vidal finally admitted being in the hotel's casino in today's press conference.
"I was at the casino, I went there, but I left there at a proper time, to fulfill my duties as a professional player. It makes me mad, because I have a family and I'll have to explain myself to them," Vidal stated.
Just like in 2015, Vidal cried in front of the cameras as he faced questioning for his actions.
The player carried on with his defense and ended up pointing fingers at his friends, who stayed in the hotel after he left.
"I left and some of them remained there. It was a proper time to leave to get home. I said it before and I said it again: I'm here to help Chile win six points, but I also like to hang out with my friends, always respecting the rules established in La Roja. My friends are big boys, and they are responsible for their actions," the player concluded.
Chile will face Paraguay and Bolivia during this international break. La Roja can't afford dropping points, as Argentina are one point behind them in CONMEBOL's qualifiers. The two-time Copa América winners hold the last direct spot to the 2018 WC, and losing points could mean problems for them.
