His goals in Ligue 1 have led them to the top of the table, whilst his displays in Europe have guided the French outfit into the Champions League quarter-final. Now, he is being linked with world-record bid amid interest from the continents elite.
Mbappe, hailed as the next Thierry Henry, has now garnered interest from Real Madrid. This is according to AS, which report that the attacker is now on Zinedine Zidane’s radar.
Los Blancos have already scouted the player, and are ready to break the bank for a player whom they believe boasts similar trait to legendary forward Ronaldo. Competition for the teenager, however, is tight.
AS claim that a Premier League club made a £95m bid for Mbappe earlier this season, an offer which his employers quickly rejected. Now, there is speculation of a £129m bid that would see the Frenchman eclipse Paul Pogba as the world’s most expensive player.
“Mbappe is a footballer that at one point could end up being a worldwide star,” said one Real Madrid source on the subject of the 18-year-old.
“He reminds us a lot of Ronaldo, who at that age dazzled at PSV Eindhoven or Henry when we wanted to bring him to Madrid next to Trezeguet.”
