The race for the Primeira Liga title enters it's 23rd round this weekend. League leaders Benfica host Chaves at Estadio da Luz. The hosts are currently at the top of the league with 54 points, just one more than second-placed Porto. Rui Vitoria's men know very well that anything less than a win could see them relegated to the second place if Porto win convincingly away to Boavista.
Speaking of the Boavista vs Porto tie, it will not be an easy one. The hosts still have a realistic chance of finishing the season inside the top four and they may want to send a stern warning to their future opponents by setting a good example in this match.
But Nuno Santo's men should be able to push for three points here despite the tough opposition. Benfica's rivals Sporting, who currently sit third with 44 points, 10 off the top, are still keeping their hopes alive when they travel to Estoril. Jorge Jesus' men can have to keep winning while hoping that the top two sides will drop points along the way. If that happens, then they could have a chance of re-entering the title race probably for the last time before the end of the campaign.
