The Italian and Spanish goalkeepers are two of the finest shot-stoppers of this era, and will be tasked with protecting their goals in Wednesday’s encounter. This – and the return leg – could be the last meeting between Buffon and Casillas.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Juventus captain admitted to being excited to see his “friend” and “rival”. Buffon also had kind words for the Porto shot-stopper.
“Recently I watched him play and I can say he is in great shape,” said the Bianconeri icon.
