It’s not that the Portuguese ace’s stats are atrocious. He has been involved in eight goals in nine games for Los Blancos in all competitions; sadly, only four of those are goals – the other four are assists.
According to El Chiringuito, criticism of the three-time Ballon d’Or winner is growing, though behind the player’s back. Pipi Estrada said (as per the Mirror):
"If it were a leader in the dressing room [who was criticising Ronaldo] then he would do it face to face with Cristiano.
"There are voices behind, getting louder.
"The dressing room is bereft of leaders, but we can't deny that there are some things that have to be called to account."
Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric are three players who are critical of the Real Madrid number 7. Furthermore, Asensio and Morata have grown frustrated by Zidane’s refusal to bench either Cristiano or Benzema despite their struggle with form.
Ronaldo still has the support of Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, and Pepe, but things might get complicated if the Portugal captain keeps failing to find the back of the net.
