It seems very strange: Barcelona look set to cash in on their rock solid goalkeeper of the last two seasons. However, according to Sky Sports, this is an inevitability that will soon materialize.
As tweeted by the British news outlet, the Blaugrana appear destined to sell the Chilean custodian for a mere £17m to Manchester City, with Sky Sports claiming his medical will happen in the next 48 hours.
The Mirror, however, report that the 33-year-old will undergo his medical today, with the transfer fee and personal terms having been struck.
Bravo will land in Manchester before 3pm BST time, and will meet officials from the Citizens. However, the Mirror claims that Barcelona will block Bravo from signing for Pep Guardiola’s side until Thursday.
One possible reason for this is that Barca do not want to let go of Bravo until his replacement is secured. That man is tipped to be Jasper Cillessen of Ajax.
Bravo will reportedly earn £100,000-a-week on a three-year deal. He could be fast-tracked into Man City’s starting eleven, with a debut as early as next Sunday being possible.
If the deal goes through, Claudio will become the first-choice keeper of Guardiola, all but spelling the end of Joe Hart’s unchallenged reign in between the sticks at the Etihad.
