It wasn't easy, but Neymar finally won something for Brazil that no other star player was able to win for them.
After three Olympic Football finals lost, Brazil finally won the tournament's top prize, thanks to Neymar's ice-cold display to end an excruciating penalty shootout.
A Canarinha lost the 1984, 1988 and 2012 finals. Even Neymar was among those who lost against Mexico four years ago, but he finally delivered for Brazil when all Maracaná stadium was on the edge of their seats.
Before the first half of the game concluded, Neymar scored quite a stunner for the Verdeamarelha side with a wonderful free kick.

But as the game went on, and neither side was able to score, penalties were required to hand out the tournament's gold medal. Neymar managed to put the ball past Timo Horn and kicked off all celebrations at Maracana.
