Having guided La Roja to a Copa America title on home soil, the Arsenal ace will be keen on replicating that success.

Alexis Sanchez is the 27-year-old South American star whose rise from a humble uprising as a poor kid in Tocopilla to become one of the continent’s biggest names is one of the most admired from rags to riches stories. Born on December 19, 1988, the man nicknamed "El Nino Maravilla" (Boy Wonder) as a child currently plays for Arsenal and represents Chile at international level.

Since moving to the Premier League in 2014, the Roja international has seen his popularity enjoy a meteoric rise – not to say he wasn’t an already established name. He boasts a fair following, with over 4.5 million people following his official Facebook account. His Twitter profile has a lesser following, at only 1.58 million.

Sanchez is known as a fiery attacker, with an outstanding work-rate, always chasing to get back the ball after losing possession. He showed against Southampton in the Capital One Cup than he can curl in a beauty from free-kicks, whilst his explosive strikes against Aston Villa in the FA Cup final, Liverpool, and Man United are some of his standout goals.

This strike vs Aston Villa in the FA Cup final remains as Alexis Sanchez's most memorable goal

Scoring the winning penalty in La Roja’s win over Argentina in the 2015 Copa America has been the highlight of Sanchez’s run with Chile, having also put in an impressive showing in the 2014 World Cup.

At Barcelona, he won La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana, the UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. However, it is at the Emirates where he truly shines under the spotlight, having won the Community Shield in his first competitive game, before lifting the FA Cup that same season.
