Luis Suárez's second season with Barcelona has been quite impressive, being involved in more goals than any other player in Europe. But even if fans and experts are surprised by his antics on the pitch, this is something that he never thought could happen.
In an interview with ESPN FC, the controversial Uruguayan striker revealed he's just trying to enjoy himself, give that he never thought he could become Barcelona's top gun with names like Lionel Messi and Neymar supporting him.
"I had never thought about becoming Barcelona's top scorer, and I find it fit to enjoy this moment while it lasts. When you're on the pitch, you only score goals if you have team-mates that can feed you the ball, and lately, all of them are looking for me so I can send the ball into the back of the net," Suárez stated.
With the La Liga title being decided next Saturday, Luis Suárez acknowledged that the team entered a slump during the worst time of the season, but fortunately for them, Los Culés were able to come out of it unharmed.
"We lost three La Liga games in a row, and then we were eliminated from the Champions League. It all happened too fast, we were not able to do anything to avoid it. Fortunately, winning the title is up to us, and we are just one game away of making it happen," the Uruguayan added.
Barcelona will play Granada with the intention of winning their second straight La Liga title. In order to do that, Barcelona needs to win the game, and if they can't do so, they have to wait and see if Real Madrid can't defeat Deportivo. A win by Los Blancos, combined with a Blaugrana loss, would give the Spanish capital giants their first trophy with Zinedine Zidane as their coach.
