Nicklas Bendtner is no longer a Wolfsburg employee.

German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have terminated Nicklas Bendtner’s contract on mutual agreement. The former Arsenal man joined the German outfit two seasons ago, but has had a series of controversies and bad blood with the club.

The 28-year-old had a contract running up the end of next season, but after a series of disciplinary issues, which include oversleeping, missing training, and taking photos next to a Mercedes Benz, which is a violation of the club’s terms given that Volkswagen are the official club sponsors and Mercedes’ fierce competitors.Bendtner poses next to a Mercedes Benz

“To continue [with Bendtner] would not have made sense. Therefore the decision to end this deal is the best solution for everyone. We wish Nicklas all the best for his future career.”
