Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has sent a special gift to the famous Afghan boy who was pictured wearing a stripped plastic bag bearing the icon’s name and shirt number. The images of the youngster, identified as Murtaza Ahmadi, made rounds on social media to an extent of grabbing the superstar’s attention who in return, sent him a signed football and shirt.

Upon receiving the gift, his father told CNN that his son had one of the happiest moments of his life. However, he also noted that his only regret was that the Argentine legend did not show up in person.

Leo scored a brace on Tuesday as Barcelona beat Arsenal 0-2 in the first leg fixture of their last round of 16 game at the Emirates Stadium. The Blaugrana are now preparing for yet another difficult match when they host Sevilla at the Nou Camp this weekend. A win for the hosts will extend their lead at the top of La Liga table, consequently increasing their chance of defending the title they won last season.
