The Brazilian right back complained about the approach some reporters give to what happens on and off the pitch. The club might take disciplinary action against him.

Brazilian right back Dani Alves started controversy on social media with an Instagram post, where he criticized Spanish media outlets for their approach on some of the team's news.

Alves claims some sources leave key parts of the information out of the public's reach, twisting the real news as it suits their interests. Here's Alves' post translated in full.

"Truthfully, everyday that goes by I'm ashamed for being part of this sport, of being used, of how some play with us. I thought that one day, we would go out and defend our turf, our colors, our team. I thought that, whether we won or lost, I'd go home and reflect on what we did right or wrong and that would be it. Today, we are used by the press only to suit their purposes, so they can sell newspapers. Each day that goes by you read less about tactics, about the goals, about the saves or the show itself. You're just fu***ng rubbish," Alves' statement read.

This is not the first time Alves writes a rant against the Spanish press. Earlier this season, the player took it against Madrid newspapers Marca and As, given that he believes those media outlets twist the facts to make Real Madrid look better. He even refused to answer their questions in a UEFA Champions League pre-match press conference.

Barcelona does not share Alves' thoughts

Los Blaugranas issued a press release regarding Alves' Instagram post via their website, explaining the team can't share the player's opinion about Spanish media, given Alves' language in it.

"FC Barcelona player Dani Alves published an Instagram post today criticizng Spanish media with the use of bad words. Even if the player is entitled to share his thoughts freely, the club needs to clarify that it doesn't support or share those offensive words he used," can be read on the team's website.

The Spanish Press Association has revealed it will take lega action against Alves, while the club has made itself available to support the player legally.

Alves is expected to play against Granada this weekend, where fans will surely let him know if they support his claims or if they think otherwise.
