It will be the world's first big sporting event since the Paris attacks. Varane had played the whole game in Paris.

With the images of the Paris attacks still fresh on people's minds, it has become a priority for events around the world to focus lots of their efforts on safety and El Clasico is no exception. The biggest sporting event since the events of Friday night at the French capital will check everything that tries to go in or around the stadium.

The Santiago Bernabeu could become a fortress before, during and after the game. The security measures will be so tight even a sandwich could be subject to revision. Community of Madrid government delegate Concepcion Dancausa explained to AS.

"All games like this are always declared 'high risk.' [Now] it's about doing the same as usual, but with a tighter control. The vigilance as the fans enter and leave the stadium will be more exhaustive," Dancusa said. ""We'll have to look inside the sandwiches [to make sure everything is safe]."

Every single thing will be inspected

For some players, this could be an emotional match. French Raphael Varane played the whole game which was suddenly interrupted by the sound of explosions outside the stadium but ended with a 2-0 victory for the French side.

Varane spent Friday night at the Stade de France

Karim Benzema and Jeremy Mathieu from France along with Toni Kroos from Germany skipped on this game for several reason, but none of them could have had predicted what would happen that night in Paris.

Close to 85,000 spectators are expected to pack the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night in the Spanish capital. It is still unclear how many police officers and security personnel will be deployed during the game. La Liga president Javier Tebas knows how important this game is to Spain and to the world, as it will be watched by close to 500 million viewers.

As a result of the Paris Attacks, the game between Belgium and Spain was cancelled as there was an elevated security concern. The mastermind behind the attacks appears to be a 27-year-old Belgian. The game between Real Madrid and Barcelona is not expected to be canceleld but security is expected to be tighter than ever.
