There is no doubt that missing Portugal's friendly match against Cape Verde did a lot of good to the reigning Ballon d'Or winner! His hat-trick came from his first three shots on target after Gareth Bale had opened the scoring in the 25th minute. It happened in only eight minutes, making it the fastest hat-trick scored by a non-Spanish player. Poor Olazabal, Granada's goalkeeper!
The 30-year-old winger added a fourth goal with a header in between Karim Benzema's brace before the hour mark. He sealed Los Blancos' 9-1 victory with a quintuple in the 90th minute of the game.
