Southampton, after recovering from an abysmal run of form, still sits in fourth spot in the English Premier League. They won their last two matches to hold on to fourth, ahead of West Ham and Arsenal. Chelsea will surely prove to be their toughest test so far. Chelsea continues to lead the way, having won their last three matches following a defeat against Newcastle United. The side from London is coming into this match without any injuries. Southampton, though, are not quite so fortunate. Jay Rodriguez, Sam Gallagher and Jack Cork are all out. Jake Hesketh is a doubt. Ryan Bertrand is ineligible because his parent club is Chelsea.
Southampton does not have happy memories of Chelsea; the Blues put six goals past them in last season's two encounters. Southampton could only answer with one goal of their own.
