Following their defeat against rivals Brazil, Argentina will now round up their tour of Asia with a match against Hong Kong. Gerardo Martino suffered his first defeat as head coach of Argentina after a Diego Tardelli brace secured a win for Brazil in their last match. The match also saw Lionel Messi failing to score from the penalty spot. Argentina enjoyed some good spells during the match but paid the price for some sloppy defending.
Argentina now go against a side which is ranked 164th in the world and will be hoping to create an impression when the two sides meet on Tuesday. Man City star Pablo Zabaleta who was at fault for Brazil's first goal in Beijing was unconcerned by the defeat and claimed that the players would learn from the mistakes made.
"Unfortunately we were unable to score and especially with the penalty that we had - it would have changed the game," he told reporters.
"In the second half they pulled back a little to counter-attack and it became more difficult. While there is much to improve, we have to think about Tuesday's match.
"We are in a changing process, with a new coach. It will take a while until we know each other better. I hate losing and more so against Brazil, but it is part of the learning."
Argentina's match against Hong Kong will serve as a good preparation match before the Copa America which kicks off in Chile in June. Martino's side are left with only two matches to play this calendar year with their clash against Portugal in November their final match of this year.
Hong Kong on the other hand will not be expecting a victory in their upcoming match, but their clash against Argentina could allow them to be better prepared as they get ready to compete in the second preliminary round of the East Asian Cup in November.
After their fixture against Argentina, Hong Kong are set to face the likes of North Korea, Chinese Taipei and Guam as they look to book a place in the competition scheduled to be held in Wuhan in August.
