Real Madrid's success on the pitch has led to off-the-field recognition.
The Liga BBVA heavyweights were named European Club of the Year by the European Club Association (ECA) after their impressive 2013-14 season.
Los Blancos ended their 12-year wait to get their hands on another UEFA Champions League crown when they beat bitter city rivals Atletico Madrid 4-1 in the final in Lisbon to win a record-breaking tenth title, en route to La Decima.
But that was not their only accolade. A month prior, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti led the club to a Copa del Rey title after beating Catalan giants Barcelona 2-1 at the Mestalla Satdium, as Les Merengues lift the trophy for the second time in four years.
Usher in the new season and Los Blancos were back to their winning ways, brushing aside La Liga counterpart and Europa League holders Sevilla 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup clash in Cardiff, beating Unai Emery's men to cap off the calendar year with yet another trophy.

The European Club of the Year was not the only award Les Merengues, as Real Madrid also walked away winners of the Best Community & Social Responsibility Programme, for the Real Madrid Foundation's development and education scheme in the Spanish capital's El Gallinero slum.
Real Madrid vice-president Pedro López, and the director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueño accepted the award on behalf of the club.

The award ceremony, held in Geneva, also saw Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg scoop up the Best Sporting Progress award, whilst Scottish Premier League champions Celtic claimed the Best Achievement: Marketing medal for implementation of a stadium-wide Wi-Fi network and their exclusive matchday content-providing mobile app.
