The UEFA Europa League quarterfinals are finally here! The last eight of this competition commences on Thursday, with all four first-leg ties kicking off simultaneously at 3 p.m. ET.

This round will see some heavy hitters take to the field, with Premier League title contenders Liverpool, Bundesliga champions-elect Bayer Leverkusen, Italian giants AC Milan, and Portuguese heavyweights Benfica all vying for a spot in the penultimate round.

Liverpool vs. Atalanta

Just days after dropping crucial points away to Manchester United in the Premier League, title contenders Liverpool return to action, this time hosting Atalanta in an interesting UEFA Europa League quarterfinal showdown. This comes on the back of the Reds' 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, which saw them surrender the lead to Arsenal. However, Klopp's men still remain the favorites to win the UEFA Europa League and will look to tear their Italian opponents apart at the iconic Anfield.

The visitors, who beat Primeira Liga leaders Sporting CP in the Knockout Round Playoffs to make the quarterfinals, enter this showdown on a two-game losing streak, having suffered defeats against Fiorentina and Cagliari in succession. Furthermore, the visitors have only won three of their last 10 matches and will thus be in for a tough ride in Merseyside.

Benfica vs. Marseille

With their season quickly unraveling, Benfica shift focus to the UEFA Europa League to return to form. The Eagles were recently beaten 2-1 by Primeira Liga leaders Sporting CP just days after being dumped out of the Taca de Portugal by the very same Lisbon heavyweights. However, Di Maria and Co. will face a tricky opponent in the quarterfinals.

While Marseille have not been enjoying a fantastic season in Ligue 1, currently sitting eighth in the table, the French outfit have shown their deadliness in Europe. Les Phoceens beat Villarreal 5-3 in the previous round and with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scoring for fun, the visitors should fancy their odds of pulling off an Estádio da Luz win. Unfortunately, Jean-Louis Gasset's men are on a three-game losing streak and must turn things around quickly.

AC Milan vs. Roma

One of the standout games of the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals will see Italian giants AC Milan and Roma battle it out for a spot in the penultimate stage. These are two of the most in-form teams in Serie A, with the Rossoneri sitting second in the table while the fifth-placed Giallorossi are hot on fourth-placed Bologna's heels in the race to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The hosts, who thrashed Slavia Prague in the Knockout Round Playoffs after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League group stage, are on an impressive seven-game winning streak. The visitors, meanwhile, have lost only two games since Daniele De Rossi took over the club from Jose Mourinho on an interim basis back in late January, with those two defeats coming against champions-elect Inter Milan and Brighton in the second leg of their Knockout Round Playoffs.
