Frank Lampard has been out of a job since May 2023, when the Blues decided to part ways with him after only one win in eleven matches.

Coaching a National Team sounds quite appealing to most, but coaching one that will be involved in the FIFA World Cup with an exciting new project to lead sounds even better.

With that in mind, being offered a national team after being out of a job since May could sound like a dream come true, and that's exactly what Frank Lampard will experience if he can reach an agreement to coach none other than the Canadian National Team.

The co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup with Mexico and the United States have started negotiations with the former midfielder, who could become the Canucks' boss after 196 games as club coach for Chelsea, Derby County, and Everton.

Canada decided to part ways with former coach John Herdman back in October, following a disappointing return to the World Cup in 2022 and after failing to lead the Canucks into the 2024 Copa América, something they accomplished a couple of weeks back in the play-in phase against Trinidad and Tobago led by interim boss Mauro Biello. Now, with the ticket to the Copa América secure, Canada's bosses believe that Lampard is the man for the job.

Lampard would be no stranger in North America, following his spell in MLS football with New York City FC. With players such as Alphonso Davies, Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan, and Jonathan David to lead, it would be interesting to see what Lampard could do for the national team. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen if Lampard accepts Canada's conditions to coach the Canucks, especially if he can secure a gig until 2026 when they will be playing in the quadrennial competition as hosts for the first time ever.
