With the winter transfer window already open, three English clubs will have to look away from Lyon in their attempt to boost their squads.

Moussa Dembelé's form has not been overlooked by Premier League teams, but according to a recent report, Lyon is not ready to bid farewell to one of their finest players this winter.

The former Celtic man has been linked with a move to the EPL, where Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have been named as potential destinations. Nevertheless, a press release issued by the club has poured cold water on those rumors, at least for the currently open window.

"Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembélé could interest other clubs during this transfer window. OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembélé," the statement reads.

In fact, clubs from around the world might have to look elsewhere for more options due to Lyon's desire to hold on to the footballer.

"The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come," the document adds.

The 23-year-old player has scored ten goals for Lyon in 18 Ligue 1 games this season, making his the third-best striker in the French top-flight. With the team currently struggling to enter the top ten teams in the French league, a transfer away from the club does not seem to be in the cards for Dembelé.
