Chelsea are the most recent Premier League club that faces an uphill battle to fend off interest in their star player. According to reports, the league leaders are in danger of losing Eden Hazard.
The Belgian superstar is being linked with a move to Real Madrid. These transfer rumors are not new, but have heated up recently. The former Lille ace is now the reigning Champions League holders’ top target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, Los Blancos are aware that only a world-record transfer bid would tempt the Blues into selling. This means by next season, Paul Pogba might no longer be the world’s most expensive player.
There are conflicting reports, though. The Sun claim that the London giants won’t entertain bids from Los Blancos, whilst Marca write that Chelsea are ready to let go of Hazard.
The player, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2013, is not pushing for an exit. However, turning down Real Madrid isn’t easy. A move to the Bernabeu could transform into instant success, both domestically and in Europe.
One thing that could aid Zidane’s pursuit of the 26-year-old is their mutual admiration for one another. Zizou is a known fan of the attacker, whilst the Chelsea ace has spoken fondly of the World Cup winner.
