When France thrashed Iceland – the nation that surpassed expectations to make the quarter-finals – on Sunday, the semi-finals for UEFA Euro 2016 was set, as only four teams remain to battle for the coveted European Championship trophy.
The hosts will take on Germany in the last 4 on Thursday; debutants Wales will lock horns with the 2004 runners-up Portugal a day before on Wednesday, with the final set to be played on Sunday, July 10.
This means that 92 players remain in the competition, including those that are injured, suspended, and the benchwarmers. Bayern Munich dominate the competition as the club with the most remaining players at 8, thanks to die Mannschaft avoiding elimination to Italy.
La Liga giants Barca have only two players still fighting for the trophy due to Spain crashing out, and they are German goalkeeper Marc -Andre ter Stegen – a man yet to feature in a single game – and newly-signed Samuel Umtiti.
