Arsene Wenger talks about the latest injury news and transfer updates at Arsenal ahead of the FA Cup tie against Burnley.

Arsenal head tactician Arsene Wenger has revealed that his club does not need to make any other signing before the end of the January transfer window. The Gunners brought in Mohamed Elneny (below) from FC Basel for £5 million and seem contented with the current squad. The North London club is in firm contention for the Premier League title, FA Cup and Champions League this season, but the French tactician believes his current crop of players have what it takes to transform their title-winning dreams into reality.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of their FA Cup tie against Burnley, Wenger was optimistic that his men would deliver. About the prospect of signing new players, he said:

“No, not at the moment.’’

“We have 23 players in training – and plus two is 25 – so unless people go out we are not on the verge of bringing anybody in.”

The Gunners could welcome Francis Coquelin, who picked up an injury in November last year, and Tomas Rosicky, who has not played a match this season. Former Manchester United man Danny Welbeck could also earn a place in the first team after staying out of action for 10 months following a knee injury.

Speaking about Welbeck’s condition, Wenger explained:

“It has to be gradual, and he has to go through Under 21 games,”

“Danny has not played since April and we are now in February so that is very long for a top-level competitor. That means you have to accept that he goes through small steps and one of them is to play in the Under 21s for the first 45 minutes.

“He is basically fit but now he has to absorb the competition.''

The Gunners are planning to bounce back from their 0-1 loss to The Blues last weekend in front of their home fans in the Premier League, by dismissing lowly-ranked Burnley in the FA Cup on Saturday. Wenger’s men are also hoping to win the cup for the third straight time in a row after bagging it in 2014 and 2015.
