Benfica beat Academica 3-0 over the weekend but Renato Sanches’ strike was the talk of the day. Suprinsingly, the 18-year-old was making his first senior debut for the Portuguese giants and he proved exactly why he deserves to play with the big boys.
Although it is quite early to judge him, his recent performances for the senior team shows he is destined for greatness in the world of football. It is no suprise that many fans and pundits have compared him to Brazil legend Ronaldinho numerous times. Despite the fact that his teammate Jonas had scored a brace in the highly-entertaining match, Sanches stole the show with a rocket-like goal that whizzed past six defenders.
