The Giallorossi want to keep up with the league leaders, while their neighbors want to climb back up to aim for European tournament spots. Check out our guide to watch the Derbi Della Capitale below.

Another edition of the Roman Derby will take place on Sunday, when third-place Roma battles against Lazio in the 2015- 2016 Serie A championship. Both sides get to this match with an ego boost, provided by their European tournament victories on Wednesday and Thursday. While Roma prevailed against Bayer Leverkusen, Lazio defeated Rosenborg in a complicated matchup held i Norway.

Roma is one point behind league leaders Fiorentina and Inter, while Lazio's two-game losing streak had them slipping behind the Serie A standings. Nevertheless, a win against their neighbours would surely make them trust themselves a bit more ahead of the rest of the season.

Roma

The Giallorossi saw a five-game winning streak come to an end last week, after losing against Inter with a tight 1-0 score. Despite that loss, Rudi Garcia's side has made a statement both in Europe and in the domestic tournament, even defeating Fiorentina three weeks ago. The team's success has been based on the performances of three players: Mohamed Saleh, Miralem Pjanic and Gervinho, each of them scoring five goals for I Lupi. In fact, their win against the Viola side came thanks to a couple of goals by Saleh and Gervinho, giving fans a good idea of what they can do.

Once the game against Bayer ended, coach Garcia revealed what are his major doubts ahead of the match against Lazio.

Lazio

The biancocelesti side gets to this match with the clear intention of erasing their bad performances against Atalanta (1-2) and AC Milan (1-3). Stefano Pioli's men will have to find the strength to defeat their neighbours based on what Felipe Anderson and Lucas Biglia can do in the middle. Both players have been key to the team's success this season, scoring seven goals between them. If they can't make a difference, veteran striker Miroslav Klose should step up and take care of business by netting his first goal of the season.

Head to head

Roma has the upper hand against Lazio in their last six games, winning two out of their last four meetings. The latest game between the two Roman sides ended up with a 2-1 score, thanks to a late goal by Yanga-Mbiwa. These games are usually quite intense, and the big amount of yellow cards shown shouldn't be taken lightly. Each team has seen 22 yellow cards in their last six matches, with Lazio having two players sent off in those games.
