Eighth placed Liverpool will take on bottom of the table Leicester, hoping for a win. A win will allow them to remain in contention for the top four spots, although Liverpool must learn the lessons of the previous UEFA Champions League if they are to succeed in their next one. The team from Merseyside have picked up two back to back wins in the league recently; this should somewhat boost team morale. The wins came against Swansea (4-1) and Burnley (0-1). Leicester finally managed to win a match following five successive defeats. The win came against struggling Hull City, 0-1; both sides were reduced to ten men in that match.
Liverpool's talisman Daniel Sturridge and the highly reliable Glen Johnson are both out of action for this one. Martin Skrtel is suspended, having been shown a yellow card for the fifth time this campaign against Swansea. Suso and Jon Flanagan are slowly trying to regain their fitness. Joe Allen, Dejan Lovren and Bradley Jones are all rated doubtful for this one. Kasper Schmeichel and Andy King are out for Leicester. Paul Konchesky is suspended; he received a red card in the previous match. Matthew Upson is regaining his fitness. Leonardo Ulloa is rated doubtful.
