It’s been a rather strange week for Manchester United fans as their club is not playing in Europe, this season. The Mancunians are also out of the League Cup. Disappointing, certainly. However, this could be a blessing in disguise.
Indeed, the state in which David Moyes left the club last season was deplorable. It’s now time for the Red Devils to rebuild themselves. With big cash, top summer transfer signings and a world-class manager in the form of Louis van Gaal, anything is possible.
Despite getting off to a very slow start in the 2014/15 season, Manchester United remain confident of finishing in the top three of the English Premier League table come May 2015. Their exciting victory at home to Queens Park Rangers last Sunday, powered by the heroics of Angel di Maria as well as team effort, has totally transformed the atmosphere in the camp.
Now, there is only one thing on Man United’s mind: to win match by match. Leicester City are next on the agenda of the Red Devils. Obviously, Sunday’s hosts are tricky opponents. One could recall how they denied Arsenal from running away with maximum points on Matchday 3. Leicester also upset Stoke City on Matchday 4 and will be looking to embarrass the happy Mancunians today.
The Foxes have lost only once in the Premier League; that was away to Chelsea. The home factor could play a big role against Manchester United. The latter just cannot underestimate Leicester City at the King Power Stadium where an 86th minute Chris Wood goal dramatically denied Everton from winning on the opening day of the current EPL season.
