Liverpool 2013-14 Season Review
Season Start: August 18, 2013
Season End: May 11, 2014
Brendan Rodgers' first campaign in front of the KOP was accompanied with a mixed reception. Some fans became disappointed in the club’s decision to appoint the former Swansea City boss whilst others accepted the entering of a transitional era.
Rodgers has moved swiftly to secure new signings this summer and will look to continue on from the promising form towards the end of the 2012-13 season which saw Liverpool finish in a respectable seventh, just behind rivals Everton in sixth.
Liverpool begin with an interesting run of fixtures against a host of teams who finished last season in the bottom half of the table, sandwiching a huge fixture against Manchester United on September 1st at Anfield, which is live on Sky Sports.
The Reds' first encounter with bitter local rivals Everton takes place on November 23, before the reverse fixture at Anfield towards the end of January.
Liverpool will take on three of the top five clubs in their last seven games, in a period that will ultimately define the evolution of their league position come May. This may dissatisfy many as supporters will want to see their team challenge for UEFA Champions League football.
